How to seal silver leaf on furniture. Looks good but what could I use to subdue the new look or antique wo totally covering the silver making it look older---a stain perhaps that wouldnt remove any silver. One way to check if your size is ready is to touch the glue area with the back of your knuckle it should feel tacky and not wet. Remove the tissue paper and use a piece of paper towel to gently rub across the top of the gold foil to smooth it out. You are correct in that you do not NEED to seal Rub N Buff.
